What In The World Are Network Marketing Leads?
Lead Generation…Fresh Hot Leads…Free Leads…Generate More Leads
You see the headlines plastered all over the place online, right? But I can’t help but wonder how many people see the ads, the webpages, the articles, etc. and scratch their heads thinking, “What the heck do they mean by leads?” or if people really understand what they are and why they’re important. So, I decided to break it down for that person who may not truly know and/or understand why they need leads.
SO WHAT EXACTLY ARE THESE ‘LEAD-THINGIES’?
Well simply put, leads are potential people who may be interested in your business or something you have to offer but with one key point…they have given you their contact information, basically asking you to “Tell me more”. Are the people you see in everyday life considered leads? No, not really and here’s why…
Not everyone that you see on a daily basis necessarily wants or needs what you have OR…perhaps they really do “need” it, but just don’t know it or they are simply not interested. But a TRUE lead is someone who has, in one way shape or form, expressed an actual interest and, again, has given you the “go ahead” to tell/show/send them more information.
WHY ARE LEADS IMPORTANT?
Leads are the lifeline of your business because you need people to talk to ABOUT your business. You must learn how to always keep a flow of people who want what you have coming to you and then from there, you work towards converting those leads into prospects (people who have gone a step beyond simply showing an initial, “possible” interest into “YES, I definitely WANT what you have!”)
So be sure that you develop the skills needed to generate lots and lots of leads. Once you develop these skills, you can apply them to virtually ANY situation where leads are a necessity!
OKAY, SO HOW DO I GET THESE LEADS?
This is one of the most challenging things for many Network Marketers because they are not taught this by their uplines and companies. I mean, sure they teach you to tap into your “warm market” and ask for referrals which is all well and fine…it works for many people.
However, what happens once you’ve exhausted those sources? Some will tell you to go out and purchase leads and for some, that also works but for most it’s a “death sentence” because:”
1. Most people cannot afford to spend money on leads especially when just starting out
2. Most people are not brave enough or even moreso, SKILLED enough to successfully cold-call those leads
You could post flyers on local community bulletin boards, post ads in your local paper(s), do the 3-foot rule and such but what about building your business bigger than your own backyard? Don’t get me wrong, building in your neck of the woods is great, but in addition to that, build outside of your local area for maximum exposure! And there is to date, no better or more efficient way to accomplish this than by the Internet! When you learn the proper skills, you can use the power of the ‘net and even more specifically, Social Media (Twitter, FaceBook, etc.) and generate all the leads you’ll ever need!
So be sure to do your research and your homework on how to get skills and training in lead generation via offline and especially online methods! Once you do that, then you can begin learning how to turn those leads into actual sign-ups!
