Create Doorway Pages

You may be asking, "What is a doorway page?" A doorway page (or gateway page, or portal page) is a web page you create that leads people to your main web site.

This page is also created to get listed with the search engines (places that people go to search for information - Yahoo, AOL Search, Excite, etc.) because your site is most likely what is known as a self-replicating site. Meaning, everyone that joins has the exact same page with the exception of their  code in their URL and their email address on the site.

There are many places that allow you to create free web pages.  Just do a search in the engines for "free web pages" and you should be able to find them.

If you know HTML, then you can create your page with their advanced page building feature. If you do not, that's not a problem either, they have templates and walk you through each step so you can create pages easily. Go to one or more of these areas, sign up for your free page and start experimenting!

Do not overload your page with too many keywords (more on keywords later) in a row. The engines are starting to recognize keyword stuffing and score you lower. Of course you will use them more than normal, but use different variations of the words.

If you are building your doorway or webpages with those Free Web places, those long URLs can be a hindrance after a while.  Suppose you wanted to take advantage of theses FREE Business Cards from VistaPrint would you really want to have on that card:  http://www.freewebplace.com/myusername/someweirdcodes?morecodes.html?

No, you don't want that.  Here are a couple of options for you:

Option A. - If you are still new to creating pages, you'll want to find a shorter, catchier URL for your page.  Rename can redirect a shorter, cooler name to your original URL.  This way you can use this name on cards, in search engines (they often frown on those long, ugly URLs too) and in your ads.

Option B. - If you are more experienced in creating more appealing webpages or websites and you're ready to move to the next level, then you will want to consider getting your own domain name.  Domain names used to cost as much as $35 a year, but now, you can them them as low as $15 a year!  Dotster is the place that I got all of my domains from and I love their service.  Create your own identity today with your own domain name from Dotster...

All of this still seem confusing to you?  Don't even know where to begin with making a doorway page?  Don't despair.  Allow DoorwayPageSolutions to create it for you!  VERY inexpensive, yet effective.  Click here

A Little Basic HTML

To those of you who do not know HTML, I don't either. But I have managed to pick up a few tips along the way that come in pretty handy when building web pages with the templates. When you get to the point of typing the body of your page, here are a few things to enhance the appearance of your page.

Note: The word or letter of each code is to begin with < . They are to end with >. I attempted to enter the codes the exact way they should appear, but when I upload this page to my server, the codes are not visible.

Example using parenthesis instead of the greater than/less than signs: To bold something is (b); to center something is (center). Get the idea? The only difference is you would use the greater than>/less than< symbols.

To end a code, use

Example: (center)My text to be centered(/center) If you do not end it with the forward slash, all of your text will be centered from that point on. If you have any questions about these codes, contact me. Remember to substitute the ( ) with < >

To make something bold
(b)

To center something
(center)

To start a new paragraph
(p)

To enter a horizontal ruled line
(h)

To italicize
(i)

To create headings
h1- h6
1 is the largest
6 is the smallest

To make clickable text link
(a href="http://www. site to link to")Your text or image that people will click on(/a)

REMEMBER: you will NOT use parenthesis; use the greater than/ less than symbols.
