Video Marketing

This is the "new" craze! I say new because it wasn't around when I was marketing back in the early 2000's. But it seems to be really effective. It's like having your own "commercials" on the highly -popular YouTube site that people will find for months and even years down the road! I found my mentor there and I remember distinctly telling her that I don't think I'll be going that route! Never say never! Now people are finding ME there! LOL! If you haven't seen my videos, you can check them out here: www.youtube.com/user/cheriemking

The thing about using videos is that, in this day and age of marketing, people are no longer looking for the best business or the best compensation plan...they are looking for (or at least SHOULD be looking for) the best person to get aligned with! The person who will be there for them, support them, and coach them.

So, the videos are an EXCELLENT way to brand yourself...to make a name for yourself and let people who are drawn to YOUR type of personality come to you rather than people who will possibly clash with you and not vibe well with you! Makes perfect sense...so start video marketing and start branding yourself today! You'll need:

  • A way to record your videos - this can be a digital camera that also records video, a cell phone that records video, a web cam or a video camera

  • A way to edit and convert your videos - If you have a PC, there should be, by default, a program called Windows Movie Maker already on your PC. Mac users can use iMovie to edit your videos and then convert to a Quicktime Movie File.
  • Decent lighting. Make the recording area as bright as possible, utilizing lights in your home, opening up blinds, etc. You can also do videos outdoors as well.

Coming soon will be a video tutorial on using Window's Movie Maker to create your videos and guess what? Most PCs come with it automatically! More on that real soon! And in the near future, we'll cover using Camtasia to create video tutorials, etc. so, be on the look out for that!

Here are a few resources to get you started:

Video Marketer's Tool Kit
I was introduced to this great resource from my mentor to help with my videos and I mean, it's INSANE how much you learn about video marketing with this! So, check it out! The price is also INSANE ...insanely LOW, that is!

YouTube - The biggest video hosting site out there. There are other video sites, but YouTube is the most popular!

Google Videos - Another very popular video hosting and sharing site.

BuzzShed
You can create video campaigns and advertise on BuzzShed! They have a range for any budget whether your budget is $5 or $50,000! People get paid to watch videos and you can get in on some of this action by promoting your videos here.

TubeMogul - This is a video submitter service. You can submit your videos to up to 12 video sharing sites. It's 100% free (there are some paid services out there, some even with monthly fees) and they will also submit your video to a few social bookmarking sites as well. So, if you're just starting out with video marketing, this is a good way to get your message out there!

Heyspread - This is another video submitter. There is a fee of $.05 per video but between this one and TubeMogul, you can hit about 23 different video sharing sites on a shoe string budget. Thanks to community member Otis Collier for sharing these video submitter sites!

Creating Videos Without a Camera

If you do not have the capability of video recording yourself, don't let that stop you! You can still create videos even without a camera! How?

Here is a 2-part video tutorial series that I did on how to create 'silent' or 'faceless' video:

Still Not Quite Ready To Do Videos... Period? Let your VOICE be heard instead!

If you still do not want to do videos, you can still make your websites personalized by using this $5 web audio software program called Impact Web Audio that will allow you to record your voice and put it on your website. All you would have to do is just insert a photo of yourself (or not) on your page and use that to help brand yourself! Here is an example of how I did that: http://listentomenow.com.

Not only that, but you can also add your voice to your MySpace page using this same software tool! I have a video on how to do that here: How to put your voice on Myspace (there are a total of 4 videos and they are all connected...just look for the "video response" under the aforementioned video)

I've seen Impact Web Audio being sold online for $47, $17, $27 and $7...but again, you can get it HERE for only $5 dollars!
